Construction and Maintenance will need to perform the power checks in i04 / BFB tomorrow morning, November 6, 2018. For this, all the systems in i04/BFB will need to be switched off by 7 a.m. in the morning. For this we needed to cancel some of your slots and we will inform you as soon as the microscope is free again! We are sorry for the late communications (there was some miscommunication towards us as well) and we hope for your understanding! best regards, BIF-team

Dear all, we now found a solution to indicate the ‘importance’ of your slot and to promote communication about experimental details. However: you need to select ‘special environment 2’ before you can leave an comment. Please use comment field to indicate: your planned duration of your booking (useful when you want to make a prolonged booking but the time did not free up) whether you are life imaging, or rather flexible due to fixed sample in case you booked since system was free anyways, next user can remove sample, etc,… Furthermore, the common agreement for bookings of confocal systems are Read More …

While the upgrade of the LSM700 inv in LBE is still in progress, we also rearranged the position of both the LSM880 and LSM700 in LBE to improve your workspace with the new arrangement. Works for the LSM700->800 upgrade are still ongoing today and we planned intros on the new LSM800-2 inv tomorrow – please be aware that it can get crowded during the intros. In addition, all compressed air connections are newly installed and all pressure settings have been reset. Do not make any adjustments to any air outlet!! With the introduction of the new ZEN 2.5 software on our new LSM800 systems, we uncovered some things that do not work optimally for us. Most importantly, the ‘Match Pinholes’ does not work, and instead of matching the pinholes to create equal optical sections per wavelength, this option now opens the pinholes completely! Opening the pinhole might overexpose the detectors and damage them: Do not use the ‘match pinhole’ option in ZEN 2.5 when setting up your Z-stack until further notice. We are in contact with Zeiss and ope for a solution soon!
