Demonstration: Femtonics FEMTO Atlas 3D using multi-photon microscopy Demonstration: Femtonics FEMTO Atlas 3D using multi-photon microscopy
December 1, 2025
The Imaging & Optics Facility is hosting a demonstration of the the FEMTO3D Atlas – in the 1st week of December.
This system is exceptional due to its speed and possibility to make multi-location scans in a single field of view, as well as making 3D line-scans on axons for instance to image Ca2+ and Voltage imaging. The FEMTO3D Atlas can be used for opto-mechanical stimulation, and be expanded with multiple accessories for e.g. VR-based visual stimulation of fixed animals. In addition, the system is GRIN-lens compatible.Femtonics will bring their Plug-n-Play system, that is on a roadshow from VBCF (Vienna) ISTA Graz, where the PnP tours, comes with full on-site assistance. Femtonics can bring Fruit fly (drosophila) and zebrafish larvae (< 5 days post fertilization) to explore the options for calcium imaging, but also “own” mice or Xenopus animals can be used for the test, upon announcement.
