please find relevant information for the BioImaging Facility for week 11 below:
GENERAL:
- Invoices Q1, 2020: Invoices Treuhand / PE projects are due on Monday March 20th, 2020. All other invoices are due on March 31st. Please check that all your booking are booked on the correct account (cc19100 – graduate school – is not a valid cost center!) -> how to
- (Bio)-safety procedures: please make yourselves familiar with the BIF biosafety guidelines. Reading of this documents need to be confirmed in PPMS.
EQUIPMENT
- Analysis workstation room (i1.O3.52a/b): construction will do some works to improve the ventilation in these rooms.
- Leica sp5up: Argon laser power is stable and better than new. The Galvo-fdrive has been transferred to the new Leica Sp8 up FALCON+WWL (implementation ongoing)
- Zeiss LSM800 systems: initial test show that our macro seems to prevent the crashes of the large multi-block experiments.
- LSM800-01: RAM is expanded to 196 Gb to better handle large experiments
- LSM880upright 20x objective: replacement was ordered, awaiting delivery – booking of available objective still required!
- LaVision TrimSCOPE MP upright: the z-drive is working again
- Reminder: LaVision TrimSCOPE MP upright: we are considering to remove the motorized stage to generate more space for people who perform imaging in mice. Please contact us if you believe this will influence your current experiments.
- Olympus TIRF: to overcome the camarea-freeze issue, we now implemented an delay of 2 minutes in the startup – whereafter the software automatically starts (!)
- BD Aria III: service performed + sample agitation motor repaired
- BD Canto II: service planned for Wednesday 11.03.2020
TEACH & TECH
- BIF mini-workshop: we will provide a mini-workshop ‘introduction to cytometry‘ with a seminar on March 18 – 9:30-11:00 a.m. in seminar room BFB 2nd floor + hands-on session on the SONY SH800 sorter in the afternoon and on March 20. Please sign-up by email
