The script automatically moving the uploaded data into the corresponding group folders on scratch has been successfully implemented. Therefore, there’s no need to do so manually by BIF staff anymore. Currently it’s set up to run once every hour, but depending on the first results, the interval can be changed in the future.
Nevertheless, this only works once your files are on scratch already. All PCs that are part of the new network are configured to upload recently created new data 90 seconds after logging in to Windows. This step was important to make sure that no ‘sudden’ uploading happens during image acquisition (esp. at the Nikon Ti-2), because it could slow down the computers and have a negative impact on imaging. Therefore, make sure you always sign out from Windows after your session!
If you don’t want to wait until the next user logs in to windows and would like to receive your data earlier, simply sign out from Windows and log in again – this will trigger the uploading. There’s also a reminder in form of a printed instruction note on the desk/monitor and on the PPMS booking site of the affected systems.
